The Herbert Fromm Addendum II consists of additional papers, music scores and recordings of Herbert Fromm that were donated to the library after the Herbert Fromm Collection and the Herbert Fromm Addendum had already been cataloged. Archival material in The Herbert Fromm Addendum II includes photos, 1920-1990; correspondence, 1960-1990; unpublished German verse, 1936-1956; as well as several important documents from Fromm's early student and professional years in Germany, 1928-1936. Also included are programs and correspondence from Fromm's eightieth and eighty-fifth birthday celebrations, 1985; 1990. In addition, there are six published scores, 1946-1990; two manuscript scores, ca. 1920-25; ca. 1940; and two commercial recordings, 1970-85. Finally, there are three archival cassette recordings, duplicate copies of an interview with Herbert Fromm done by Eliott Kahn in August 1994.

Herbert Fromm was a composer, choir conductor, organist and pianist. Fromm was born in Kitzingen, Bavaria on February 23, 1905. From 1925-29 he studied at the State Academy of Music at Munich, graduating with honors. He was assistant conductor at two State opera theaters, first Bielefeld (1930-31) then Würzberg (1931-33).
